Have a family car? If you do, then you would most likely have problems keeping your vehicle interior stain free. All it takes is one road trip and all the money you spent having your interiors detailed flies out the window. If you have young kids, the stains would come from a lot of sources – milk, juices, catsup, grease, bubblegum- you would not even know which most of the time. All you can see is that dark spot right smack in the middle of your backseats – and then some more on your carpet, and of course squirts and spots on the ceiling.

Current inflation rates especially on gas prices are making more and more people start to search for ways to cut back on their gas consumption. Many are trying ways to cope such as commuting and doing car pools. Definitely it could be efficient to save if using your car is not really necessary. However, there are just situations that using your car cannot be avoided. Magazine, current news and even online, you’d find numerous advise on how to beat oil price hikes. How can we know if these are true or not?
Here are a number of more reliable tips on conserving fuel and improving your vehicles mileage and over all engine ability.
1. Don’t drive too fast. Abide by speed limits posted on the streets. Though this might not be very exciting, there is sense behind it. Driving a little too fast makes your fuel burn faster too. Following speed limits not only keep you safe from accidents, they help you save on fuel too.
2. Use the cruise control tool to efficiently keep a constant speed and aid you in decreasing fuel usage.
3. Turn on the o/d icon on your dashboard when you’re on a highway. These are overdrive gears that can help improve the way your car consumes the fuel.
4. Know and be aware of traffic situations. Your car’s gas consumption lowers by 5-10 percent when you brake and accelerate too frequently while tailgating.
5. Free up your trunk space, carrying the weight of unneeded items is like having another person riding with you without splitting the gas cost.
6. Turn of the engine whenever possible, even if you are just waiting. You safe on fuel, and you contribute less to air pollution.
7. Schedule your errands so you won’t have to go back and forth the same store or area for forgotten trips or items.
8. Know your cars correct octane level. Different cars vary in octane level requirements. The higher the octane, the more expensive the fuel becomes.
9. Cars with poor engine condition will consumer 20 percent more fuel than that of more efficient ones. Have your car checked and repaired at service stations.
10. Get your car wheels aligned and checked for the right inflation.
11. Change your oil as much as possible. Oil changes are very important to keep engines clean and work efficiently.
12. Pollutants not only affect us humans. These can also damage the integral engine components. Keep your car filters clean and change them regularly.
13. Older cars are less efficient. Depending on the kind that you need, get a fuel efficient automobile.
And finally, you can also get yourself a gas card. These can be very helpful, whether prepaid or a gas credit card. It is bound to assist you in your search for ways on cutting back on fuel costs. Different cards offer rebates, cash backs, discounts on auto parts or services, plus points for purchases at gas station convenience stores and a lot more.

All vehicle owners admit, car washing is an essential part of car maintenance. Although there are a million car-wash-service shops around, vehicle owners sometimes find themselves washing their own cars. It may be because of necessity (the nearest car wash is a mile away), or because they find car-washing a relaxing task. Besides, if one of the kids wants to borrow the car, this could be a good barter agreement.

What would you say if you can actually learn to change oil yourself? You will probably save on a lot of money and the time you spend on getting your car to the service center and waiting for it to finish can e used on changing the oil yourself in the comforts of your own home.
