As we parents grow older, our concerns also expand. One of the things most of us dread is the time our child (or children!) starts whining for their own car “to go places.” This means a lot of things to us; increase in our car insurance payments, added worry whenever our child takes that car out of the garage; and their late night romps around town with their friends.

Ever been in a collision with another vehicle? If it was your fault, what was your excuse? I will bet that you actually did not see the other vehicle coming. And most probably, the other driver did not notice you too. No matter how good your ratings are in driving school and in your test, once you get used to driving, you would often forget the most basic rule when on the road – look every way!

The most precious cargos we have in our cars are kids, whether they are ours or a friend’s. However, some drivers may think that they are keeping children safe when in fact they are not. To prove this point, researches have been done and they show that one of the leading causes of death in children is motor vehicle crashes. This is in part due to the large number of drivers that do not know how to use child seats and seatbelts properly. Because we should be responsible drivers, we should learn how to keep kids safe every time they ride in our vehicles. They should be properly harnessed each time.

Your car can be considered your second (or third, depending) home. This is why you need to be sure that your vehicle is safe, for you and for all the other people that ride in it. Purchasing a used car can be a good decision. Some young men or women, like college students, prefer buying a used car since they do not have enough money or credit to cover the expenses of a brand new car. Older people on the other hand may prefer a used car over a new vehicle since they would not be driving around so much. They only need the car when visiting or when running errands so it would be impractical to buy pricey automobiles.
